St. Vitus Church + underground spaces
On the eastern outskirts of the city there is the Gothic church of St. Vitus, which was part of the Franciscan monastery in the 15th century. The interior of the church dates back to the 18th century - the Baroque. Behind the main altar there is a wall painting representing the entering of St. Vitus into the heavens. It is the work of the well-known Moravian painter Josef Winterhalter, who painted it in 1774. From the outside the walls of the church are unplastered giving the stone masonry idyllic impression.
In 2012, the medieval wall paintings with the subject of Crown of the Virgin Mary, which is in all respects an exceptional monument of wall painting in the Czech Lands, were discovered in the restoration work in the church. Under the church of St. Vitus there are underground spaces, which were recognized as a cultural monument in 2007.
