Cycling trip No. 3
Hrotovice, Mstěnice, Rouchovany, Dukovany, Skryje mill, Dalešice, Hrotovice
Length of the route: 31 km. Another route starts in Hrotovice, 20 km from Trebic on the southern edge of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The dominant feature of the city is the chateau, which was rebuilt and converted in the Baroque style in the first third of the 18th century. The oldest building in Hrotovice is originally the Romanesque church of St. Lawrence, which was rebuilt in the middle of the 14th century and modified in the second half of the 17th century in the Baroque style. You will go along the way towards Rouchovany. On the way we can see the ruins of the Mstěnice castle, which is located near the extinct medieval village of Mstěnice. The findings proving the settlement of the territory of Mstěnice are from the 10th century, however ceramics dating back to the 8th century were also found here. Rouchovany offers relaxation at the swimming pool, which is part of the Rouchovany campsite. During the season you can rent a boat or a pedal boat. Then we head towards Dukovany. We will run Olešná pond until we get close to the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant. Here you can visit a modern information centre that introduces safe operation and nuclear power issues. Directly in Dukovany you can visit the renovated chateau with the exposition of the chateau housing. Then we go along the Brewery Cycle Route, which runs mostly around the Mohelno water reservoir. On the way, you will pass, for example, the ruins of the Rabštejn castle or Skryje mill until we reach the village of Dalešice. Beer lovers will surely appreciate the local brewery with the Austro-Hungarian Brewery Museum. In the premises of ??the Dalešice brewery, the popular film Postřižiny was made. Then, around the Dalešice chateau, you will return to Hrotovice.
